WHEN: semester 4
APPLICATION: one semester in advance, in semester 3 (5 February or 5 September)
ASSESMENT CRITERIA: grades, amount of credits, and extra points for engagement in JU organisations
REQUIREMENTS: general requirements for proceeding to the next semester
LENGTH: one semester (3 - 5 months, depending on partner university)
VFU: is available at some partner universities
SCHOLARSHIPS: you can apply for Erasmus+ scholarship for studies in Europe and a Travel Grant while studying outside Europe

WHEN: semester 5
APPLICATION: in semester 4
LENGTH: 10 weeks
POSSIBILITIES: you can do a 10 weeks traineeship at various Non-governmental organisations around the world or at some of our partner universities within Europe
Scholarships: Erasmus+ for traineeship in Europe
HOW IT WORKS: you are responsible to find the traineeship place and you need to get your traineeship approved by the VFU coordinator of your programme (Malin Johansson) before your departure. Your first step will be to book a meeting with VFU coordinator to discuss your ideas.

WHEN: semester 6
APPLICATION: in semester 5 (15 October for MFS)
LENGTH: min. of 8 weeks
SCHOLARSHIPS: you can apply for the Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship if you plan to collect data for your thesis in Europe or the Minor Field Studies scholarship (MFS) if you would like to go to a low- and middle-income country.
TIPS: start with your application early and contact your Academic International Coordinator Aimée Ekman who can help you to get in contact with your Thesis supervisor.
Have you finished your courses and are you awaiting your degree certificate? Use this time to gain even more international experience. Recent graduates may apply to undertake an internship via Erasmus + programme. Application must be made via JU and should be made prior to the issuing of the student's degree. The entire internship period must be completed within 12 months of the date of graduation. A student who has obtained his / her degree may no longer apply for an internship.
