Information regarding increased national threat level
The Swedish Security Service has raised the terror threat level from three to four on a five-point scale. This is being considered both internally at Jönköping University (JU) and within the higher education sector, among presidents, university directors and security officers.
Before the Kick Off Festival and other JU/student events, JU has an ongoing and close dialogue with the police and other actors in the region, such as Jönköping municipality and the County Administrative Board.
“We monitor developments, gather information, and conduct various risk analyses. The most important thing for us is that the campus environment is safe for students and staff,” says Johanna Andersson, Premises and Security Coordinator at Jönköping University.
Regarding the increased threat level in the country, JU refers first and foremost to the information provided by the Swedish Police, namely that people should do the things they usually do in their everyday lives. However, it is a good idea to be more vigilant.
