Caroline Van Rijckevorsel
Caroline van Rijckevorsel is a doctoral student in Disability Research at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University.
Her doctoral project focuses on supporting individual preferences in prosthetic design. The project centres on the development of an AI-based patient decision aid to support shared decision-making in prosthetic care, aiming to better integrate personal values and preferences into clinical practice.
Caroline holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the University of Twente and a Master’s degree in Product Development with a specialisation in Assistive Technology from Jönköping University. Prior to her doctoral studies, she conducted research on inclusive playground design, focusing on barriers to meaningful play for children with disabilities and the development of inclusive design solutions. Her work is grounded in a user-centred design approach, with a focus on inclusive and person-centred healthcare.
