Forskning 

Ulrika Olaussons forskning handlar om kommunikationens roll för etablerandet av djup hållbarhet. Hennes senaste bok Dualismens tyranni: Nio etiska principer för hållbar kommunikation är ett exempel på denna ansats. För närvarande arbetar Ulrika med boken The Ethics of Sustainable Communication: Overcoming the World of Opposites på uppdrag av det akademiska förlaget Peter Lang samt med ett antal antologikapitel och tidskriftsartiklar på samma tema.

Ulrikas forskning har publicerats i välrenommerade internationella tidskrifter, t.ex. Public Understanding of Science, Environmental Communication, Journalism Studies och European Journal of Communication och hon har lett ett flertal externfinansierade forskningsprojekt, t.ex. “Naturen möter nätverkssamhället: Medborgares sociala representationer av naturen i sociala medier”, finansierat av Formas. Ulrika sitter också i redaktionskommittéerna för tidskrifterna Environmental Communication och Frontiers in Communication: Science and Environmental Communication. 

Biografi

Ulrika var professor i medie- och kommunikationsvetenskap vid Högskolan för kommunikation och lärande i Jönköping mellan 2013 och 2022 varav fem år som forskningsledare, då hon initierade forskningsprogrammet Sustainable Journalism/Communication. 

Hon disputerade i medie- och kommunikationsvetenskap vid Örebro universitet 2005 med avhandlingen Medborgarskap och globalisering: Den diskursiva konstruktionen av politisk identitet, och utnämndes till docent 2009 och professor 2012 vid samma lärosäte. Sedan disputationen har Ulrika varit involverad i flera forskningsprojekt och hon är flitigt anlitad som sakkunnig för internationella tidskrifter, forskningsråd och konferenser. Hon har också många uppdrag utanför akademin, där hennes forskning om hållbar kommunikation har rönt uppmärksamhet.
