Effects of family firm failure

The Ragnar Söderberg Foundation has granted more than SEK 2.9 million to the research project "The short and long term effects of family firm failure: Family members experiences, well-being and future prospects".

Firm failure can be devastating for an entrepreneur in terms of wellbeing, confidence and financial situation. In a family business, the firm failure does not only affect one individual but an entire family. The aim of this research project is to investigate the consequences of a firm failure on members of the family that owns and runs the company.

Assistant Professor Karin Hellerstedt is the project leader. Research fellow Anna Jenkins and Professor Mattias Nordqvist are also involved in the project.

The Ragnar Söderberg Foundation website has a list of all projects that have received grants. The Foundation's CEO Kjell Blückert comments: “The winners are the ambitious scientists who have advanced qualifications and interesting research ideas. It is our opinion that their research is at the forefront and will promote the common good.”
