JIBS first dissertation defence in Statistics

Peter S. Karlsson successfully defended his doctoral thesis, titled �Issues of Incompleteness, Outliers and Asymptotics in High-Dimensional Data" on 29 April 2011. This is the first thesis in Statistics defended at JIBS.

The thesis consists of four essays in the field of multivariate statistical analysis of high dimensional data. Among other issues, it suggests possible solutions to the problem of incomplete observations in empirical applications of the Arbitrage Pricing Theory model.

Faculty opponent was Dietrich von Rosen, Professor, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Examining committee was Abullah Almasri, Associate professor, Karlstad University, Astrid Hilbert, Associate professor, Linnaeus University, and Rolf Larsson, Professor, Uppsala University. Chair of the defence was Associate Professor Thomas Holgersson, JIBS.
