The aim is to contribute to enhanced knowledge and competencies that increase the manufacturing industry's national and international competitiveness and the ability to create value. The research outcomes add to existing knowledge on how industrial production becomes customer-oriented, knowledge-based, creative and resource efficient.

Competitive industrial production calls for development and cooperation among a number of key areas in such a way that the overall company strategies are supported. All constituents need to be considered in order to achieve efficient and effective production systems.
