Mohammad is currently working on product and production adaptations that are tightly interconnected. Making small changes in the product model could cause large and unexpected effects on the production system. Furthermore, making changes in the production system may cause large and unpredicted effects in what can be offered to the customer through the product model. This chaotic effect is referred to as the Butterfly Effect and a project is ongoing with the same name in JTH to study this problem.
In his masters, Mohammad worked on Finite Element Modeling, Experimental standard tests, Artificial Neural Network modeling, Engineering Optimization, Reliability-based and robust design, and Decision-making methods. Most of his case studies were of the dynamic and quasi-static type and related to manufacturing and simulation of the automotive body structures.
