Working life, vulnerability, and employment opportunities

Society´s efforts to provide opportunities for people to support themselves and live independently are studied in this area. The focus is on social workers dealing with municipal subsidies and their encounters with citizens. Other possible research foci include the labour market, social insurance and the forces in the private sphere that help people support themselves. One central theme in this research programme is thus the individual citizen´s encounter with professionals in the municipal services, the employment office, the social insurance office, health and hospital care — and with those doing volunteer social work. The coordination and cooperation of responsible authorities, professions, and other participants may also be studied in the programme.
