Sujith Kochuthundil Subhash

Sujith is a PhD student in Materials and Manufacturing with a research focus on Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) for aerospace repair applications. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala, India, and later earned a Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

His doctoral research focuses on the characterization of titanium alloy repairs produced by Laser Metal Deposition, with particular emphasis on microstructure, mechanical performance, and the integrity of the repair–substrate interface. His work involves advanced characterization techniques such as SEM, EDS, EBSD, and miniaturised mechanical testing.

Through his research, Sujith aims to contribute to reliable and sustainable repair strategies for high-value aero-engine components and to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application.
