Research
Aastha works in the field of electron microscopy with a strong focus on nanoscale imaging and materials characterization. Over the years, she has developed extensive hands-on experience in sample preparation, SEM/FIB operation, and data analysis, delivering reliable results for both fundamental and applied research projects.
She actively contributes to knowledge sharing and training, supporting students and colleagues in developing strong practical skills in microscopy.
Biography
Aastha holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Kurukshetra University, India (2014), and a Master of Technology in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Panjab University, India (2017). Her master’s project, titled “Growth and Characterization of ZnO Nanostructures Using Catalyst-Free Pulsed Laser Deposition Technique,” focused on the synthesis and detailed analysis of functional nanomaterials.
From September 2017 to March 2024, she worked as a Senior Project Scientist in the field of electron microscopy at the Central Research Facility, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. In September 2024, she joined the Department of Materials and Manufacturing as a Research Engineer, where her work focuses primarily on materials characterization using electron microscopy, advanced sample preparation, and supporting students and researchers in developing confidence and expertise in microscopy techniques.
