The Negotiation Challenge is an international student competition. On 9 April, three master’s students from JIBS will be travelling to Iceland to participate.

Through compelling negotiation methods and strategies, the participating teams must prove their skills and compete through four rounds. In the final, the two best teams will compete in front of an international jury composed of lawyers, business leaders and professors. The best team will win a trophy and be titled ”World Champion of Negotiation”. The competition runs from 10 to 12 April.
The team from JIBS consists of three accomplished students. Ilina Yordanova Velkova came to Sweden from Bulgaria after few years of experience within Google and HP. Matej Tremko comes from Slovakia where he has held leadership positions for two years in a global NGO. Soukaina Lamrani comes from Morocco where she has worked as a consultant for four years. All three now study at the master’s programme Strategic Entrepreneurship at JIBS.
“Our team is strongly international. Together we speak seven languages and we all have experience in inter-cultural teamwork. We share one common motto in life: To always go beyond ourselves and to challenge the status quo”, says Soukaina Lamrani.
The primary idea behind The Negotiation Challenge (TNC) is to provide a competitive platform to help prepare students for the complex business negotiations that they will face after graduation.
TNC is the first international negotiation competition in Europe and one of only few international negotiation competitions in the world. TNC involves teams of students from worldwide Universities.
A little under 60 teams from Universities from all over the world applied for participation in The Negotiation Challenge 2014, and only 18 of them were selected. The team from JIBS is the only Swedish team to take part in the competition.
