    People at a fair. “It's a great event that has helped me a lot in deciding what to choose.”This according to 20-year-old Rado Dacher, one of around 2,000 upper high school students from the municipality of Jönköping who visited Jönköping University's (JU) Higher Education Fair (Framtidsmässan) on Thursday.
  • Several JU alumni nominated for Young Female Leader of the Year


    For the eleventh year running, female leaders in Jönköping County are being recognised through the Young Female Leader of the Year award. The selection process is now complete, and 22 inspiring women have been nominated – several with connections to Jönköping University (JU). “I am extremely happy to be nominated and consider it an honour. I am passionate about leadership and people and see the nomination as a nice confirmation – a little pat on the back that confirms that I am on the right track and gives me energy to move forward,” says Martina Bäck, HR manager at Hooks Herrgård and former student at the School of Education and Communication.
  • Improved quality of life for elderly people


    Stipendiater The annual ceremony for the distribution of the Aktiestinsen Scholarship Fund has taken place at the School of Health and Welfare at Jönköping University (JU). This year's recipients and their four different projects will contribute to improving the quality of life for elderly people. A total of SEK 920,000 was awarded.
  • JU expert contributes to national guidelines


    Forskningschef utanför Hälsohögskolan The national guidelines for dementia care are about to be updated for the first time in several years. The work is being led by the National Board of Health and Welfare and is expected to be completed in mid-2027. Linda Johansson, Dean of Research at the School of Health and Welfare at Jönköping University, is one of the scientific experts participating in the process.

    Radu Dinu After a Christmas break, the popular lecture series JU LIVE is back. Radu Dinu, Associate Professor of History, held the first popular science lecture of the spring semester, where the audience was invited to reflect on comic art as a source of knowledge in education.
  • Students competed in national finance competition


    This weekend, students from leading universities across Sweden gathered in Jönköping for the Swedish University Pitch Competition (SUPC) 2026, a two-day national event dedicated to best-in-class equity research and investment pitching. With nearly 100 spectators attending the final round, the competition highlighted the analytical depth and presentation skills of Sweden’s student finance societies.
  • JU takes over operation of campus in Gränna


    Since Jönköping University Enterprise (JUE) began operating in Gränna with programmes for international students, Campus Gränna AB has been responsible for kitchen, cleaning, and janitorial services. In 2026, responsibility for operations at Jönköping University's (JU) campus in Gränna will be transferred to JU itself.
  • Research for everyone when JU LIVE returns


    Audience and speakers at JU LIVE from last fall. At Jönköping University (JU), socially relevant research is conducted daily in many different areas. On Thursday, 29 January, the popular lecture series JU LIVE returns, giving the public an opportunity to learn about the research in a relaxed setting. Four interesting lectures are planned for the spring, where visitors can enjoy refreshments, listen to lectures and ask questions. All lectures will be given in Swedish.
  • Family Entrepreneurship tournament expands - 400 students compete in FEST


    Man på en scen FEST – Family Entrepreneurship Schools Tournament – is growing rapidly. This year, around 400 upper secondary school students from eight schools in Jönköping County are participating in the competition run by Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) to strengthen young people's knowledge of family entrepreneurship, ownership and family business. Through teaching, practical challenges and close collaboration with the regional business community, students discover how important family businesses are for the county's development – and try their hand at solving real business challenges.
  • Jönköping is Student City of the Year 2026


    Jönköping has been named Student City of the Year 2026 by the Swedish National Union of Students (SFS). In its justification, SFS highlights a city where students not only live and study, but also actively contribute to shaping its development.
